Job Description:

A well-established specialist construction and refurbishment contractor is seeking a capable Quantity Surveyor to join their Medway-based commercial team. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality refurbishment, fit-out and specialist construction projects across London and the South East, this organisation continues to grow through repeat business and long-standing client relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility for projects while working within a collaborative and experienced commercial team.

Job Responsibility:

Managing project costs from tender stage through to final account
Preparing valuations, cost reports and financial forecasts
Procuring subcontractors and negotiating subcontract agreements
Managing variations, change control and commercial risk
Administering contracts, primarily under JCT forms
Maintaining strong communication with project teams and clients
Ensuring accurate commercial reporting and documentation

Requirements:

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline
4-6 years’ Quantity Surveying experience within construction or contracting environments
Strong knowledge of pre- and post-contract commercial duties
Experience working with JCT forms of contract
Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
Excellent organisational and communication abilities
MRICS or working towards chartership beneficial but not essential
