About the opportunity: We are excited to present a rewarding opportunity for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join our client's expanding Quantity Surveying Team. This role is office based working out of the client's office. We are actively seeking a permanent Project Quantity Surveyor to contribute to the growth of our successful Construction division at our Stonehouse, Gloucestershire office. This role will involve close collaboration with a diverse range of customers, including Property Developers and Commercial entities. This role offers a unique proposition – you'll be an integral part of a team established in October 2023, providing you with the chance to shape its growth and contribute innovative ideas to enhance processes for both internal and external stakeholders. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the flawless financial execution of new multi-utility connections and EV Charging projects throughout their construction journey. Working closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and the Finance team, your meticulous evaluation of project financials against predetermined budgets will ensure precision and transparency at every stage. Your contribution will be instrumental in upholding financial excellence and driving the success of these projects.
Job Responsibility:
Assist Project Managers in understanding/highlighting the financial performance of their projects
Drive the forecast/cost to complete process with Project Managers to communicate variances to budget early in the delivery cycle
Provide detailed financial information to the Project Finance team for budget amendments and production of month-end management reports
Offer feedback to the Finance and Estimating teams where required
Regularly review project invoicing to ensure the timely issue of customer invoices
Liaise with the Streetworks team to understand Civil Subcontractor costs, ensuring swift action on any anomalies
Provide feedback on project overspends associated with price variances from original estimates
Offer commercial support to Project Managers on variations
Provide feedback to Construction Managers on the financial performance of Project Managers
Assist with the completion of actions arising out of the PPV process
Assist finance with project budget splitting between infrastructure and Multi-Utility works
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager
Contract Management experience
HNC in Quantity Surveying or equivalent discipline
Anti-bribery training
Excellent communication with the ability to build strong working relationships with internal/external stakeholders
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks across different projects
Strong financial acumen and understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
Highly process-driven
Resilient with the ability to work well under pressure and cope with conflicting demands
A strong work ethic and high level of integrity
