As the Quantity Surveyor, you'll take commercial responsibility for managing projects from inception to final account within a well-established Generalist Building Contractor in Kent. This client has been established for many years and undertakes a variety of generalist projects including Healthcare, Education, Commercial, and Residential, valued up to £15m. This is an important role within a respected regional contractor, offering the chance to work on diverse schemes.
Job Responsibility:
Reporting to the Commercial Manager
Administration and commercial management of projects from procurement to final account, across a variety of sectors (Healthcare, Education, Commercial, Residential)
Production of monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), financial forecasts, and cost reports
Management and negotiation of variations, claims, and final accounts with subcontractors and the client
Assisting in the production and issue of commercial notices to both the Client and Subcontractors
Working to maintain profit and margin targets across assigned projects
Requirements:
Experience working for a Main Contractor as a Quantity Surveyor/ Project Quantity Surveyor is necessary
Ability to manage and commercially control multiple projects or packages at one time
Experience across a variety of sectors such as Healthcare, Education, Commercial, or Residential is beneficial
Good contractual knowledge and negotiation skills
Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a relevant construction discipline
