Our client is a leading Independent Connection Provider (ICP), specialising in new connections, substation builds, design, and electrical contracting for industrial and commercial power utility projects. They are looking for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to support their dynamic team. Working closely with Project Managers, Operations Managers, and the Director, you will ensure financial transparency and precision throughout the life cycle of projects.
Job Responsibility:
Project Financial Performance: Assist Project Managers in understanding and detailing the financial performance of their projects, ensuring alignment with set budgets
Forecasting & Cost Control: Drive the forecast/cost-to-complete process, highlighting budget variances early and ensuring accurate cost reporting to the Project Finance team
Financial Reporting: Provide detailed financial data to amend budgets and assist with the production of month-end management reports
Invoice Management: Regularly review and ensure timely invoicing of projects to clients
Subcontractor Costs: Liaise with the team to review Civil Subcontractor costs and swiftly action any discrepancies
Commercial Support: Offer commercial support on project variations and provide feedback to Project & site managers
Project Overspend Analysis: Report on overspends due to price variances from original estimates and assist in taking corrective actions
Collaboration with Finance: Assist finance cross-functional commercial departments with project budget and progress reports
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years experience as a Project Quantity Surveyor supporting the delivery team, preferably within the utilities or electrical contracting industry
Strong contract management experience, with a proven track record of delivering financial excellence on projects
HNC in Quantity Surveying or equivalent disciplines
Excellent communication skills and ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Highly organised with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Strong financial acumen, with in-depth knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and cost control processes
Process-driven and resilient, with the ability to manage conflicting demands and pressures
