The Project Planning Engineer will be responsible for preparing and monitoring project schedules, resource plans, and execution strategies across turnkey projects. The role involves close coordination with project managers, design teams, procurement, and site execution teams to ensure on-time and cost-effective delivery.
Job Responsibility:
Develop project schedules using MS Project / Primavera for all project phases
Break down work into WBS (Work Breakdown Structures) and track progress
Align schedules with client requirements, engineering deliverables, and procurement timelines
Track project progress against baseline and report deviations
Monitor key metrics like man-hours, productivity, and cost performance
Support project managers in preparing catch-up plans to mitigate delays
Collaborate with design engineers, procurement, QA/QC, and execution teams for inputs
Prepare MIS reports, dashboards, and progress trackers for management and clients
Facilitate periodic project review meetings and maintain follow-up trackers
Identify critical paths, risks, and bottlenecks in schedules
Support in planning resource allocation (manpower, equipment, material)
Propose solutions for resource optimization and time efficiency
Maintain updated schedules, records of project changes, and progress logs
Provide planning support during client progress review meetings
Requirements:
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering discipline
2–6 years of experience in project planning/scheduling (preferably EPC or piping/infrastructure projects)
Proficiency in Primavera P6 / MS Project and MS Excel (mandatory)
Knowledge of industrial piping, ETP projects, and renewable/solar projects preferred
Strong analytical and communication skills
