Job Description:

We are looking for a Project Planner who is passionate about shaping vibrant, inclusive communities through thoughtful planning and meaningful stakeholder engagement. This role combines community and transportation planning with project leadership and creative communication to deliver impactful solutions across the organization. The ideal candidate offers a strong mix of project management, planning/design expertise, and business development capabilities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Leading long-range planning projects for various clients including municipalities, counties, MPOs, and other client types
  • Lead and contribute to planning projects focused on community development and transportation
  • Apply advanced planning principles to develop policies, strategies, and plans that help communities grow and thrive
  • Manage project scopes, schedules, and deliverables, coordinating across internal teams and disciplines
  • Design and facilitate stakeholder engagement strategies, including public meetings and outreach for high-profile efforts
  • Partner with agencies, developers, and community organizations to align planning solutions with local goals and needs
  • Support business development through proposal writing, pursuit strategy, and client relationship building
  • Mentor junior team members and help foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture
  • Maintain project data and documentation in the firm’s project management system

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in planning or urban design
  • A minimum of six years of planning experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing or supporting projects
  • Strong background in community and/or transportation planning

Nice to have:

  • Master's degree preferred
  • AICP certification preferred
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign and Illustrator preferred
  • Experience with GIS preferred
  • Previous consulting experience preferred
  • Experience with business development, including writing proposals and supporting client pursuits
