Job Description

Our client is actively looking to engage with experienced Planning professionals who have a proven background delivering high-value, complex construction schemes to support a growing pipeline of work across major infrastructure programmes. The successful candidate will have strong experience in Primavera P6 scheduling and data reporting, scheduling best practice, resource and cost-loaded schedules, alongside the interpersonal skills required to work closely with internal project teams, contractors and stakeholders on a daily basis. This role will take responsibility for end-to-end planning service delivery, ensuring client objectives are achieved through the delivery of a value-added planning and controls function.

Job Responsibility

  • Coordinate and lead planning sessions and programme workshops with clients, contractors and vendors to develop and maintain the master project/programme schedule, establishing agreed baselines and critical path
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to plan, develop and execute construction schedules across complex programmes
  • Develop and maintain detailed construction programme schedules using Primavera P6 and Tableau, supporting delivery across multi-project environments
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, subcontractors and project stakeholders on a day-to-day basis to maintain programme alignment and schedule integrity
  • Ensure schedule-related data from vendors, suppliers, engineering and construction contractors is incorporated into project planning and reporting systems
  • Implement project planning and scheduling strategies, procedures and controls, ensuring alignment between internal teams and contractor responsibilities
  • Work closely with project managers, construction teams and subcontractors to maintain programme integrity and delivery performance
  • Provide schedule assurance and reporting support to project functional teams and contractors, monitoring and reporting against schedule performance
  • Coordinate and consolidate multiple sources of programme data into master schedules, producing accurate project and programme reporting
  • Prepare and maintain progress reports, dashboards and planning presentations, including monthly reporting requirements
  • Produce high-level and detailed 1, 3 and 6-month look-ahead programmes from Primavera P6
  • Conduct critical path analysis, schedule risk analysis and probabilistic schedule analysis to identify risks and opportunities
  • Monitor and communicate programme risks, delays and potential issues that could impact delivery schedules
  • Analyse deviations from baseline schedules, identify bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions to mitigate programme delays and manage change impacts

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience supporting the delivery of complex construction and infrastructure programmes
  • Advanced working knowledge of Primavera P6 and strong MS Office capability
  • Experience producing resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules, schedule reporting and performance analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data, identify trends and recommend corrective actions based on factual evidence
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across project teams
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously, while also contributing effectively within a wider project team
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet programme deadlines in fast-paced project environments
  • A proactive and motivated approach with a strong focus on delivering value to clients
