Job Description:

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced and driven professionals to fill upcoming APS6 and EL1 Project Officer roles. These roles offer the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-profile projects that support key government priorities. As a Project Officer, you will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of complex projects across a range of policy and program areas. You’ll be part of a dynamic team that values initiative, collaboration, and problem-solving.

Job Responsibility:

Coordinating project planning, reporting, and risk management activities
managing stakeholder engagement and communications
monitoring project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
preparing project documentation, briefings, and status reports for senior executives
supporting governance processes, including committee coordination and reporting
leading work streams or mentoring junior staff (EL1 level)

Requirements:

Experience in non IT project management or coordination in government or a related environment
strong organisational and communication skills
ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting
sound judgement, initiative, and strategic thinking
familiarity with project management methodologies
Australian citizenship
ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline (APS6) or NV1 (EL1) security clearance
qualifications in project management, public administration, or a relevant field are desirable
