The Project Officer – Volunteer Programs works with volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations to support the delivery of outcomes for the Volunteer Resource Centre and the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS). This role operates within a community development framework and involves: Recruiting, supervising, and training volunteers; Building volunteer capacity and maintaining accurate records; Supporting positive volunteer outcomes through strategic engagement and reporting.
Job Responsibility:
Establish and maintain networks with aged care facilities, Aboriginal services, and other key stakeholders
Organise network meetings and events to promote volunteering
Recruit suitable volunteers and meet program/funding KPIs
Conduct volunteer orientation, training, and ongoing support
Maintain volunteer placement systems, database records, and reporting
Undertake research to implement best practices in volunteer engagement
Deliver qualitative and quantitative reports on volunteer outcomes
Contribute to organisational planning, supervision sessions, and team meetings
Requirements:
Tertiary or certificate qualifications in social/community services and substantial relevant experience in community development
Knowledge of the aged care sector through experience, training, or education
Demonstrated ability to set outcomes and work methods
Skills in supervising/mentoring volunteers or staff
Strong verbal, written, and networking skills
Competence with Microsoft Office and database programs
Current NSW driver licence
National Police Check
