Job Description:

This role will be responsible for coordinating installation activities and completing test and commissioning tasks on a variety of simple to complex Signalling projects across the Aurizon Network.

Job Responsibility:

  • Coordinate and deliver railway signalling works for external customer and signalling asset renewal projects across Aurizon’s rail network
  • Plan and execute the construction, testing and commissioning of railway Signalling works for both new and existing installations
  • Organise and plan construction works and associated technical aspects of Signal engineering projects including developing and managing of
  • cost estimates, internal and external resource requirements, material requirements, integration with other work groups, staging requirements and construction programmes
  • Test and commission new and modified railway signalling systems and infrastructure to ensure compliance with signalling standards, specifications and safe operation
  • Manage technical issues and support for day-to-day construction activities
  • Organise and prepare the associated testing and commissioning documentation, installation and test procedures and asset handover certification
  • Contribute to the development and review of technical aspects and strategies for new technologies and techniques applicable to Railway Signalling systems / networks and coordinate implementation where applicable
  • Identify requirements for new processes and standards, and contribute to the production and implementation of new standards, specifications and work practices
  • Flexible roster to suit project/business needs
  • Travel and working away from home required across Central Queensland Coal Network

Requirements:

  • Minimum Advanced Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent approved qualification (mandatory)
  • 3-5 years technical experience as Site Engineer or 5+ years technical experience as Project Engineer in similar role (mandatory)
  • Current Class C drivers’ licence (mandatory)
  • Previous experience and background in On-site project works coordination and integration
  • Previous experience and background in signalling construction
  • Ability to test/commission various signalling infrastructure and read technical plans
  • Develop test/commissioning documentation and review/write technical standards
  • Exceptional communication skills both written & verbal and ability to negotiate/influence a range of stakeholders
  • High level of skill in the development of technical, design construction and maintenance engineering solutions, and the application of new technology and techniques
  • Willingness to complete medical testing and travel for role as required
