
The project manager often leads medium to complex size projects teams and teams of direct and indirect project staff, including consultants. The assigned project team may consist of staff from all divisions of the corporation requiring the project manager to establish and maintain productive relationships with management and staff from all divisions. The requirement to understand the common goals, but diverse needs of different areas and, balancing that with the project mandate makes this position truly strategic. This position requires a broad corporate view of both the current working environment and the future with the client. The project manager maintains this view through extensive corporate-wide liaison at a senior level.
