You’ll join an international asset management business with over $500bn under its stewardship. In the UK, the business owns and operates gas, water, power distribution and fibre networks. Working from home in order to manage projects across the South/East region, you’ll join their core network building business and work on new build / new connection schemes which further expand their asset base. This typically includes multi-utility work undertaken on behalf of home builders and industrial/commercial clients requiring a new network to be installed. As a network owner, their focus is very much on delivering a high-quality and long-lasting asset. They have a relentless focus on safety and work to the highest standards of construction given they will adopt the asset themselves once completed. Joining them as a Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the installation, testing and commissioning of gas, water, fibre and electric mains, services, and associated equipment and meters. You’ll also be responsible for Health and Safety matters on site including auditing teams and working under CDM regulations.
Job Responsibility:
Initial and ongoing site meetings including CDM pack handover
Evaluating, planning, managing, approving and undertaking plant and network
Ensuring assets are constructed in a safe manner and as designed
Project Management of Network construction including material control
Monthly site progress meetings (larger sites)
Liaison with the Central Scheduling Team
Large mains/cable materials selection
Progression of site variations
To carry out and record competency interviews with operatives
Operative health & safety issues including incident investigation and reporting
Site audits including pre-construction site set-up / Team audits / Van audits
Audit of site preparation
Assist with existing asset and/or plant queries
Closure of corrective actions
Requirements:
Experience and/or qualifications as well as having a working knowledge of current Legislation, Technical Standards & Specifications, Codes of Practice and Recommendations relating to one of the following utilities
Gas, Electric or Water Distribution Systems
Working knowledge of both of the other utilities to enable safe and efficient management of network construction
Authorising Engineer registration (gas) or Senior Authorised Person (electric) or NCO3 (water) qualifications
