The Project Manager will lead cross-functional engineering initiatives from concept through commercialization, ensuring successful delivery within a Stage Gate product development environment. This role requires strong experience managing complex projects that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software engineering disciplines. As a collaborative and proactive leader, the Project Manager builds strong relationships across departments, drives accountability, and keeps teams focused on achieving results. Balancing strategic oversight with hands-on execution, this role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and with the urgency and quality required to support overall business objectives while fostering a culture of transparency, collaboration, and high performance.
Job Responsibility:
Manage multiple concurrent engineering projects of varying scope, including product development, sales engineering support, implementation efforts, and production support
Lead teams through the Stage Gate development process, ensuring alignment with business strategy, customer requirements, and market timelines
Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed project plans, schedules, resource allocations, budgets, and risk assessments
Coordinate cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, as well as quality, procurement, application support, customer support, marketing, and finance
Monitor project performance using key metrics (CPI, SPI) and drive corrective actions when needed
Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks while maintaining momentum and urgency
Utilize project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA) to plan, track, and manage multiple initiatives
Develop and manage project financials, ensuring alignment with budget expectations and financial goals
Create and maintain product roadmaps that align engineering deliverables with strategic business objectives and market schedules
Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, delivering clear and timely communication on project status, milestones, risks, and changes
Drive accountability and motivate cross-functional teams to meet objectives
Champion project management best practices and mentor teams on process discipline and continuous improvement
Support a high-performance culture built on accountability, transparency, and collaboration
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related area required
Master’s degree preferred
5+ years of project management experience with a record of successfully delivering complex, cross-functional engineering projects
Experience managing initiatives that include mechanical, electrical, and software components
Strong knowledge of Stage Gate product development methodology
Demonstrated skill in identifying, communicating, and mitigating project risks
Proficiency in resource and schedule management using tools such as MS Project and JIRA
Solid understanding of project financials, including budgeting and cost tracking
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to overcoming obstacles
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Proven experience developing and managing product roadmaps aligned with strategic goals
PMI certification or equivalent credentials preferred
Experience in high-growth or small-company environments strongly preferred
