Job Description

The Project Manager leads the full maintenance and operations lifecycle for the Michigan Nutrition Data System. This role owns delivery from planning through deployment. The work focuses on keeping the system stable, delivering enhancements, coordinating with State leadership, and ensuring all contract commitments are met. The Project Manager directs cross‑functional teams and makes sure developers, analysts, testers, and security personnel are aligned on goals and timelines. This role runs daily operations, manages risk and scope, and makes sure all support requests meet the required service levels. They work closely with the State to translate needs into actionable plans and maintain a predictable, well‑run flow of work throughout all releases.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the daily execution of all project work including maintenance tasks and enhancement releases
  • Manage the full sprint lifecycle including sprint planning, daily check‑ins, demos and retrospectives
  • Coordinate communication across technical teams, business stakeholders and State leadership
  • Create and manage project schedules, release plans, resource allocations and risk logs
  • Ensure scope, timelines and quality remain aligned with contract expectations
  • Oversee change control work, issue resolution and escalation management
  • Track deliverables and ensure every release meets system, business and technical requirements
  • Provide clear weekly status reports and roadmap updates
  • Support UAT planning, deployment readiness and post‑release validation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the State
  • Maintain compliance with service level agreements and all contract obligations

Requirements

  • Five or more years of technical project management experience in Agile environments
  • Experience managing projects of similar size and complexity using Scrum or Kanban
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to guide, influence and coordinate cross‑functional teams
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Project Management Professional or Scrum certification preferred
