This is more than project delivery. This is about leading high-performing teams, influencing strategy, and ensuring operational excellence across our contracting projects. You’ll oversee the end-to-end delivery of multiple projects ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while providing technical and planning leadership to our Project Managers and Planning Team.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and manage contracting projects from planning through to close-out
Ensure projects meet customer requirements, budget expectations, and quality standards
Oversee scheduling, planning, resource allocation, and cost control
Monitor and manage financial performance, including WIP and reconciliation of open projects
Ensure full and accurate work packs are prepared
Drive smooth field delivery and monitor field productivity
Lead project close-out meetings and ensure complete job file documentation
Maintain proactive and professional client liaison at all stages
Recommend work prioritisation to the Works Delivery Manager
Identify risks and obstacles early in the planning stage
Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions
Drive continuous improvement across planning and project delivery processes
Requirements:
Extensive experience managing contracting or infrastructure projects
Strong financial acumen budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Deep understanding of project planning, scheduling, and resource optimisation
A proactive mindset with a focus on solutions and continuous improvement
Ability to balance operational detail with strategic oversight
New Zealand work rights are required for the role
