As a Project Manager – Research Systems, you will lead a high-impact project that transforms how Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association research grants are processed. In this role, you will take ownership from day one, guiding a complex system project from design through to implementation, while enabling colleagues and partners to adopt new ways of working with confidence. Your work as a Project Manager will improve how research funding operates, strengthening collaboration and helping ensure progress in research development and innovation for MND is supported effectively.
Job Responsibility
Lead end-to-end delivery of the Research Management System and other priority projects
Lead the end-to-end procurement process, including Request for Proposal development and supplier evaluation
Oversee project governance, plans, RAID logs and reporting to stakeholders
Manage supplier relationships to ensure delivery meets scope, time and quality
Map and improve research funding processes with key teams
Ensure integration, data, security and technical requirements are met
Oversee system design, testing and readiness for go-live
Deliver change management, training and adoption support
Track milestones, budgets and risks, ensuring effective delivery
Support additional PMO projects where required
Requirements
Recognised project management qualification (PRINCE2, APM PMQ or equivalent)
Experience working on or leading change initiatives and adoption of refreshed operational practices
Proven experience delivering technology projects as a Project Manager or similar
Strong knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
Experience managing suppliers and stakeholders
Skilled in producing clear project documentation
Confident communicator across all levels
Strong organisation and ability to manage competing priorities
Experience leading teams to successful outcomes
Nice to have
Experience in research funding or charity environments
Knowledge of grant or medical research funding systems
Understanding of cloud platforms or web technologies
Familiarity with change management frameworks (e.g., Prosci ADKAR, Kotter, or similar)
