Job Description

Our Defence client is currently recruiting for a Project Manager based in Cheadle to deliver an inflight project. Expected to provide assistance to the Building Block Portfolio Product Manager, It requires professional project management capabilities to be applied - giving rigour to cost and schedule, resource management, commercial awareness and stakeholder management.

Job Responsibility

  • Work with an established team to survey an existing project and ensure the successful delivery
  • Report accurately and maintain control of the work
  • Deliver the key results and performance metrics of the project, including gross margin and cash
  • Ensure all business planning and reporting is published in accordance with Business directives
  • Manage project stakeholders
  • ensuring strong communications are established and maintained
  • Taking direct management of project risk, opportunities and schedule management working with the PMO
  • Ensure data integrity of all project information including financials and schedule
  • Use the Oracle and Primavera toolset to hold all financial, schedule and resource information

Requirements

  • Experience of delivering an Engineering project, ideally within the Defence industry
  • Experience Working in a complex, multidisciplinary, multi-site organisation
  • Experience and understanding of the Project Management process including Change Control, Risk Management and Information Management
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with written presentation and report writing skills
  • Strong, organisational, managerial and team working skills
  • Analytical skills aligned with the need to carry out detailed investigation of cost variance
  • Commercial, financial and business acumen
  • Experience of chairing reviews and establishing root cause analysis
  • Experience of chairing lessons learned reviews
  • SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance

  • Performs jobsite inspections/audits of shoring, rebar/post-tensioning installation, safety, and quality.

  • Manages assigned projects including working with local team to develop processes for delivering total concrete solutions.
  • Reads rebar shop drawings, post-tension shop drawings, and structural drawings.
  • Supervises the activity and development of Assistant Project Managers.
