The Party Manager / Project Manager is responsible for the full operational, technical, HSEQ and financial performance of a seismic crew. This includes oversight of personnel, equipment, sub?contractors, and ensuring full compliance with client, company, and governmental requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure all operations comply with local laws, regulations, and governmental requirements
Ensure all client requirements, contractual terms, and conditions are strictly met
Maintain strong relationships with governmental and local authorities
Oversee seismic operations from scouting and permitting to final completion
Act as the main point of communication with the Client Representative for daily operational matters
Enforce all company policies, including HSEQ, Operational Policies, Drug & Alcohol policies, IAGC/OGP standards, and local/state regulations
Lead and drive the Health, Safety, Environment & Quality program on the crew
Set HSEQ goals for the team, participate actively in committee meetings, and support all audit activities
Monitor HSEQ performance of all personnel and ensure corrective actions are implemented where required
Ensure subcontractor adherence to HSE standards and approved safety plans
Manage and control crew operating costs, ensuring budgets are not exceeded
Control direct field crew cash payments and ensure timely reporting to accounting teams
Maintain an up?to?date inventory and asset tracking system for all company equipment on the crew
Ensure requisitions match operational requirements and follow company processes
Provide full logistical support for field operations, ensuring efficiency and continuity of activities
Ensure proper use, maintenance, and protection of all company assets
Visit field units daily to monitor operations and crew needs
Deliver all operational reporting required by the company and the client
Conduct performance evaluations for key personnel
Identify training needs and provide or coordinate onsite training opportunities
Request and participate in technical, safety, and quality training as required
Oversee and support all crew members to ensure safe, high?quality, efficient operations
Requirements:
Preferably a Bachelor of Science in Geophysics, Geology, or Natural Sciences
Minimum of 5 years’ experience at various levels within a seismic field crew
Deep understanding of seismic field operations and company procedures
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong operational knowledge of seismic workflows, equipment, and field logistics
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs over uneven terrain
Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions
Physically capable of walking up to 7 miles, installing equipment across natural and man?made obstacles
Ability to accurately perceive terrain and object characteristics, including color and shape
