TDX Adak Generating (TAG) is recruiting for a Project Manager. This is a part-time position based in Anchorage that reports to the Utility Operations Manager. TDX Power is seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager to oversee and execute a variety of special utility projects. These projects include new service installations, fuel tank installations, hydro feasibility studies, utility service relocations, vegetation management, asset procurement, and other critical utility infrastructure initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in utility operations and project management, with a proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets and timelines, and ensure project compliance with regulatory standards.
Job Responsibility:
Manage utility projects from start to finish, ensuring they stay on schedule and within budget
Develop plans, set goals, and identify risks to keep projects on track
Communicate with stakeholders, provide updates, and address any concerns
Lead teams, assign tasks, and make sure milestones are met
Supervise contractors and vendors, ensuring their work meets company standards
Support team members transitioning into project roles
Improve processes using insights from previous work experience
Ensure projects follow policies, security rules, and industry regulations
Use project management tools to keep projects organized
Anticipate and manage timely and effective responses to problems, ensuring that overall operations are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures
Work in conjunction with accounting and financial services to ensure all reporting requirements are met promptly
Lead planning, execution, and completion of special utility projects from concept through close-out
Manage new utility service installations, including coordination with engineering, operations, and permitting entities
Oversee installation of above-ground and underground fuel tanks, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations
Conduct or coordinate hydroelectric feasibility studies, including stakeholder engagement and technical assessments
Manage projects involving the relocation of existing utility services to accommodate infrastructure changes or environmental factors
Coordinate tree clearing and trimming efforts near utility lines, working with contractors and ensuring environmental compliance
Procure equipment, materials, and contracted services necessary for project execution, ensuring alignment with budget and schedule
Track project progress and maintain accurate documentation, including reports, permits, contracts, and correspondence
Engage with community stakeholders, regulatory agencies, vendors, and internal departments to ensure project success
Monitor safety practices and ensure compliance with all company policies and applicable regulations
Assist the Utility Operations Manager with the overall safety of the plant operations
Must maintain and have an obligation to ensure that all site personnel are appropriately trained in required job skills, duties, and safety procedures
Assist Utility Operations Managers with oversight of the preventative, protective, and repair maintenance programs, and quality control inspections
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
BS in engineering, project management, construction management, a business or related power-generating field, and a minimum of fifteen years of related experience and/or training
or equivalent combination of education and experience
A strong working knowledge of the technical and administrative side of utility operations
5+ years of project management experience in the utility, energy, or construction industries
Strong knowledge of utility systems, including electrical, fuel, and renewable energy infrastructure
Experience managing regulatory compliance and permitting processes
