We are looking for a Project Manager to oversee manufacturing-focused initiatives in Newbury Park, California. This contract opportunity has the potential to become permanent and is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who can guide projects from initial planning through final execution while keeping teams aligned, schedules on track, and budgets under control. The role will support efforts such as product introductions, operational enhancements, and equipment-related projects in a regulated environment.
Job Responsibility:
Direct manufacturing projects from kickoff through completion, ensuring objectives, scope, and deliverables are clearly defined at each stage
Build and maintain comprehensive project roadmaps that outline timelines, budgets, resource needs, and key dependencies
Partner with stakeholders across engineering, operations, quality, and other functions to coordinate work and keep milestones moving forward
Evaluate project status regularly, identify potential risks or schedule impacts early, and implement practical recovery plans when issues arise
Prepare and share project performance updates, including progress against deadlines, spending, and completion of major deliverables
Promote adherence to applicable safety practices, quality expectations, and regulatory requirements throughout the full project lifecycle
Lead improvement-focused efforts that strengthen manufacturing performance by applying structured methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
Run project meetings, document decisions and action items, and maintain consistent communication with team members and leadership
Support equipment installation and operational change initiatives by coordinating implementation activities and ensuring minimal disruption to production
Align project priorities with business goals by balancing competing demands and helping teams stay focused on high-impact outcomes
Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience managing projects, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting
Demonstrated capability in formal project management practices, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management
Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving collaboration across multiple departments
Strong knowledge of core project management principles, tools, and reporting methods
PMP certification is preferred or highly valued for this role
Familiarity with Agile Scrum and the ability to apply adaptable project delivery approaches when appropriate
Understanding of continuous improvement concepts, with exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement frameworks
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present updates clearly to stakeholders at different levels
