Job Description:

Join Barclays as a Project Manager and play a pivotal role in delivering large-scale transformation projects within Markets Post Trade, focused on modernising technology and reimagining the user experience. This is a high-visibility opportunity to drive well-governed delivery across multiple workstreams within a multi-year programme, managing several complex projects in parallel. You will collaborate with senior engineers, architects, product owners, UX/UI designers, and business analysts on cutting-edge initiatives including cloud migration (AWS), QA and test automation, AI-enabled capabilities, and internal authoring platforms. As the first Project Manager in the team, you will have a unique opportunity to shape delivery standards, influence ways of working, and make a tangible impact on a critical transformation agenda.

Job Responsibility:

  • Scope Management: Manages a single project with specific, defined objectives, deadlines, and deliverables. Their focus is on completing the project on time, within scope, and on budget
  • Strategic Focus: Operates more tactically, focusing on day-to-day management of resources, schedules, and deliverables for their individual project
  • Time Horizon: Works with a shorter, more defined timeframe as projects have a set beginning and end
  • Stakeholder Management: Primarily manages stakeholders related to their specific project, ensuring communication and expectations are clear for the project’s deliverables
  • Risk and Issue Management: Focuses on risks and issues specific to their project and works to mitigate them within the project’s scope
  • Resource Management: Manages resources for their individual project, ensuring that the project team has the necessary skills, tools, and time to complete the work
  • Financial Management: Focuses on managing the budget of their specific project, ensuring it is completed within the financial constraints
  • Metrics: Measures success based on the timely completion of project deliverables within scope, time, and budget
  • Change Management: Manages changes that directly impact their specific project, including scope changes, timelines, or resource allocation adjustments

Requirements:

  • Proven experience delivering complex technology programmes end to end
  • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple, interdependent projects concurrently
  • Strong capability in resource capacity planning and tracking

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with Agile at scale and other delivery frameworks, such as Waterfall, Kanban, and Scrum
  • Experience delivering Data, AI, or authoring solutions
  • Exposure to cloud-native architecture programmes
