Our team is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee and drive research publication activities related to Quality programs for a leading professional association. This is a long-term contract position with a hybrid work arrangement based in Dallas, TX.
Job Responsibility:
Manage research publication activity for select Quality programs. Develop, create, and regularly update policies, processes, and procedures tied to the organization’s Quality research strategy
Oversee implementation and optimization of proposal central, and maintain project management protocols for submitted research proposals, including committee reviews, approvals, project analysis statuses, author engagement, and workflow tracking for abstracts and manuscript drafts
Ensure appropriate internal committee review and timely submission of abstracts and manuscripts for conference or journal consideration
Continuously gather, assess, and synthesize information from diverse sources to adapt and update processes, aligning them with varying program structures
Train volunteer leadership on process updates to ensure understanding and compliance with the evolving publication strategy
Develop and monitor success metrics and KPIs to track both departmental and research manuscript performance
Support and help lead research data bootcamps (preparing content and agendas, scheduling sessions, and handling administrative logistics)
Assist with key operational tasks connected to strategic projects, including resource capacity planning and project time estimation
Collaborate on daily operations, data management issues, and vendor coordination
Evaluate departmental performance, identify gaps, and propose solutions to improve future outcomes
Process organizational invoices, contracts, requisitions, and related expenses as required
Coordinate with new research or project areas to ensure smooth handoffs and procedural compliance
Contribute to research conference planning and execution as necessary
Effectively communicate and build relationships with volunteers, stakeholders, and staff
Requirements:
Previous project management experience, ideally in research, quality, or association environments
Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
Smartsheet experience highly preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong time management skills
ability to balance and prioritize multiple complex projects at various stages
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, including staff, volunteers, consultants, and vendors
Demonstrated initiative, proactive problem-solving, and ability to anticipate challenges
Strong attention to detail and accountability for deliverables
Experience with data management, analysis, and summarization
