Randstad Digital is partnering with a well known QLD Utilities organisation to recruit a Senior Project Manager to lead a high-stakes, enterprise-wide digital transformation for a major Windows 11 upgrade. This 12 month contract focuses on the critical initial phases of a digital workplace strategy, ensuring a modern and secure technology portfolio for over 1,000 users. You will drive the strategic roadmap, navigating complex technical landscapes and application compatibility to ensure a seamless deployment.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the deep-dive discovery phase to identify user personas, hardware readiness, and application dependencies
  • Partner with technical specialists to assess the impact of Windows 11 on mission-critical legacy and bespoke applications
  • Develop a detailed Project Management Plan defining the schedule, resource requirements, and milestone gates
  • Establish and manage the project budget, including procurement for hardware upgrades and software licensing
  • Facilitate workshops with business SMEs and technical teams to align the upgrade with security and performance goals

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience managing large-scale ICT infrastructure projects or OS upgrades
  • Proven ability to lead the planning and discovery front-end of projects, including complex environment audits
  • Experience managing projects in hybrid environments where OS upgrades align with SaaS and security protocols
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner or PMP certification with a track record of applying structured governance
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps or Jira for tracking discovery tasks, requirements, and milestones
  • Experience working on vendor-led projects (this is not a technical PM role)
  • You must be a Brisbane based candidate with unlimited working rights to be considered

  • Perform installation, configuration, administration and monitoring of end-user IT automation equipment to include baseline imaging, performance optimization, patching, and updating of associated hardware and underlying operating systems
  • Perform maintenance and functionality checks of two conference rooms to ensure computer, video-teleconference, and voice IT equipment are operational
  • Submit and track related trouble-tickets while coordinating with external support directorates to restore functionality
  • Identify, prioritize, track, and resolve end-user automation and information technology hardware and software issues and problems to maintain at least a 99% system availability rate

  • Analyze technical support requests and provide possible technical solutions and courses of action within 10 business days of receipt of request
  • Conduct testing of automation equipment and end-user applications immediately after configuration changes and software deployments to validate that changes and enhancements do not adversely affect system operation and performance
  • Respond to customer support requests and contact customers by the end of the business day to confirm requirement receipt and provide an approximate time of completion
  • Develop and maintain documentation which includes SOPs, TTPs, system architecture guides, and diagrams for all DCD end-user automation equipment and hardware configurations adhering to organizational templates and policies
  • Notify the Government of any unscheduled system outages within 30 minutes of each occurrence and record the outage to the operations log within four (4) hours
