The project aims to transform Samarkand’s public transport by modernizing the municipal bus operator into a sustainable commercial entity, implementing performance-based contracts for private companies, and establishing a professional management system to oversee the city’s new electric bus fleet and infrastructure.
Job Responsibility:
Manage the Corporate Development Plan and Capacity Building Programme for the E-Bus Project
Leading a team of experts to support the modernization of Samarkand's public transport system, specifically focusing on the introduction of electric buses and the transformation of the municipal operator into a commercially viable entity
Requirements:
B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in engineering discipline, economics or equivalent qualification
Must be fluent in English and Russian languages
Must be fully computer literate
At least 15 years of professional experience in the field of public transport, incl. e-bus operations
Preferably 10 years as project manager or team leader for similar projects in nature and complexity (large transport projects and/or corporate development/transformation projects, preferably in public transport sector operations)
Previous experience with the execution of at least (1) project financed by the Multilateral Development Banks (such as EBRD, AFD, WB, EIB, ADB, AfDB)
