Job Description:

Right now, we are looking for a Project Manager – Steel Mill Area for our Steelmaking and Casting Project Team. In this role you will report to our Area Manager – Steelmaking and Casting and work within our Project Delivery function. The team is responsible for delivering the Steelmaking and Casting area of our integrated plant in Boden, from engineering through procurement and construction, ensuring safe, on-time, and on-budget execution.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of assigned work packages within the Steel Mill area, owning scope, budget, schedule, and quality
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, and construction activities across internal teams and external partners
  • Drive progress through structured planning (L3–L5 schedules) and close collaboration with Project Controls
  • Manage and challenge EPCM contractors and OEMs to ensure performance and accountability
  • Identify risks early, maintain mitigation plans, and escalate issues that impact cost, time, or quality
  • Lead interface coordination across adjacent packages to ensure consistency and smooth execution
  • Promote a strong safety culture in all phases of project delivery

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in project management within heavy industry or large capital projects
  • Experience managing EPC work packages in steelmaking, EPCM, or similar industrial environments
  • Strong understanding of cost control, detailed scheduling (L3–L5), and risk management
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in matrix organizations
  • Proven ability to hold contractors and suppliers accountable for delivery
  • Structured problem-solving skills and the ability to make clear decisions in complex situations
  • Fluency in English
  • Willingness to be based in Boden and contribute on site
