Job Description

Tired of multi-year mega-projects that drag on forever? Love the thrill of turning chaos into a perfectly executed job in weeks or months instead? Then you’ve found the right role – We’re District Mechanical – 100% employee-owned, zero corporate BS, and proud of it. Our Special Projects team is the rapid-response crew everyone calls when they need mechanical work done fast, done right, and without the usual headaches. Think tenant improvements, urgent upgrades, design-build retrofits, and the occasional “holy crap, can you fix this yesterday?” job. Average project length? A few weeks to a year. Clients? Almost all repeats who won’t let anyone else touch their buildings, your ability to make them look good keeps the phone ringing. We need one more badass Project Manager who lives for that pace.

Job Responsibility

  • Run multiple concurrent projects, you own your projects cradle-to-grave: kick-off → schedule → buyout → build → commission → handshake → next one
  • Keep everything (and everyone) on schedule: manpower, materials, subs, the works
  • Protect the budget like it’s your own money
  • Mentor up-and-coming Project Coordinators and back up our Foremen in the field
  • Solve problems on the fly, price changes quickly and fairly, and keep the paperwork tight
  • Hand the keys over with a smile, a fat stack of O&M manuals, and a very happy client

Requirements

  • Solid plumbing & sheet metal / HVAC knowledge
  • Proven project management experience in construction OR strong mechanical trade/field experience and a burning desire to move into PM
  • Mastery (or close to it) of scheduling, budgeting, change management, and dealing with subs
  • Comfort with Procore, FieldWire or similar
  • The leadership chops to guide Coordinators and earn respect from seasoned Foremen
  • Zero tolerance for safety shortcuts

What we offer

  • You own part of the company
  • Real skin in the game, real profit-share cheques
  • Short, high-impact projects = constant variety and faster wins you can point to on your résumé
  • We promote from within like it’s our religion
  • We invest in you: regular coaching, leadership training, and a promotion process that’s transparent
  • Great people who give a damn about quality and actually like each other
