At Randstad Defence, we’re proud to be partnering with Electro Optic Systems (EOS)—a leading force in the design, development, and manufacturing of advanced systems—in currently seeking a Project Manager - Space Systems. The Project Manager – Space Systems is responsible for the management of a range of exciting and complex projects that contribute to the development of advanced space capabilities for military customers. About The Role You will be the senior point of accountability, ensuring that technical and operational requirements are met without compromising on cost or schedule. You’ll bridge the gap between sophisticated technical teams and executive leadership, translating complex variables into successful mission outcomes.

Job Responsibility

  • Strategic Leadership: Empower project teams with the frameworks, tools, and knowledge necessary to navigate complex program lifecycles
  • End-to-End Governance: Oversee scope, schedule, and resource management
  • Manage supplier and subcontractor coordination to ensure precision and quality
  • Optimize workflows and implement robust quality assurance processes
  • Stakeholder Management: Drive consistent communication across all levels, fostering trust-based relationships with internal teams, external partners, and military clients
  • Reporting & Analytics: Produce high-level project status reports and performance metrics for senior leadership and contractual partners
  • Risk & Compliance: Champion rigorous adherence to company policies, defence industry standards, and national security requirements
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to enhance governance and delivery practices.

Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science, Defence Studies, Business Administration, or Project Management is essential
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, a strong grasp of formal project management methodologies, and relevant academic credentials aligned to the discipline
  • Previous experience managing complex projects with the Department of Defence and/ or Defence prime contractors
  • Experience delivering projects in complex engineering environments, particularly those involving precision ground based optical systems, space surveillance, or advanced defence technologies will be well positioned to contribute meaningfully to Space Systems’ mission
  • Australian Citizen and ability to hold and maintain an Australian Government Security clearance.
