As a Project Manager, R&D at Baxter Healthcare Corporation, you will lead innovative projects to improve our product portfolio and patient care. You will offer both business and technical guidance, supporting project teams from start to finish. Your duties include supporting or leading large to medium sized NPD Projects which require project planning, execution and control, communications, and closing. You will make sure all projects align with our mission to save and sustain lives, delivering smooth implementation and outstanding results. This role will directly support the Patient Support Systems (PSS) business unit, best known for hospital beds, stretchers, safe patient handling equipment, and connectivity solutions.
Job Responsibility:
Accountable for core team performance, project schedule and execution, budget commitments, and spend
Lead the team in defining project strategies, developing goals, and ensuring project scope is strictly defined and controlled
Continuously interact with all functions and levels of management to ensure effective ongoing communications across teams and collaborators
Ensure identification and communication of project risks, formulate risk plans, and direct the core team in the proactive management of risk response strategies
Anticipate potential conflict situations for proactive solutions and manage conflict situations to reach mutually beneficial results
Direct the core team to recognize and carry out continuous progress initiatives
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required
10+ years of prior product lifecycle experience, including 5 years of project management experience with proven success directing multi-site projects in the medical products industry
An R&D Engineering background is beneficial, though candidates with a non-technical background, including Software/Computer Science, may also be considered
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, manage challenging conversations, and perform under pressure
Certification in Project Management methodologies, such as PMP or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Outstanding organizational and technical project management skills are essential, including leading a team from concept through execution, identifying scope, schedule, budget, and leading the team to success
