Job Description

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Manager - Networking Solutions will execute major projects according to the agreed scope, milestones, and budget. This will include acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and other third parties to deliver successful outcomes. The Project Manager will also define and track the project objectives and have overall responsibility for Quality and Health & Safety throughout their project portfolio. As a senior operational person, the role requires a demonstrable ability to lead by example by mentoring and supporting the wider project team, whilst being a great ambassador for Onnec.

Job Responsibility

  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables and set up the required controls to ensure compliance
  • Develop project plans to control deliverables from start to end and to add the communication of progress to stakeholders
  • Effectively communication of project progress, issues, and risk to line management and main contractors/clients in an agreed and timely fashion
  • Maintain accurate budget forecasts and escalate any major deviations to line management in a timely fashion
  • Ensure that project profitability is always maximised by applying due diligence to expenditure throughout the project lifecycle
  • Control, mentor, and motivate the project team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned tasks
  • Liaise, coordinate, develop and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project
  • Maintain Company Health and Safety policy and report incidents, accidents and near misses to senior management and Compliance
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation within the relevant project folder and file structure
  • Ensure product non-conformances are recorded and corrective actions taken, as necessary
  • Ensure that any hire plant and equipment is maintained in a safe condition and regularly serviced
  • Promote environmental awareness to project team members and achievements to the Main Contractor/Client team
  • Conduct a post contract/Lessons learned review of completed projects to identify and record successful and unsuccessful elements of the scope
  • Manage difficult personnel situations directly, using appropriate discretion, HR advice, and respect for the individual
  • Assist line management with the appraisal and development of staff
  • Take responsibility for various special Internal projects from time to time
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and assistance in all aspects of the sales cycle
  • Take responsibility for the implementation of BS ISO / IEC 27001 data security management, whilst upholding the ethos of the standard, adhering to associated legislation, Company procedures, and policies

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in delivering large and complex projects or project portfolios
  • Relevant experience working in enterprise Networking technology environments
  • Exceptional knowledge of industry project delivery processes
  • Exceptional knowledge of commercial contracts (Sub-contracts) scope and deliverables
  • Ability to absorb/understand different technologies and related Integrations
  • Ability to interpret and communicate contract scope requirements
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Understanding of PRINCE2 standards
  • Understanding of OGC Projects and Programme Process
  • Ability to organise multi skilled teams in projects
  • Experience working with leading Networking vendors i.e. Cisco, HP, Fortinet, Allied Telesis
