Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with expertise in mergers and acquisitions to lead large-scale banking transformation initiatives. This role will focus on managing complex transactions, including deposit migrations and core banking system transitions, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with strategic goals. As a long-term contract position, this opportunity offers the chance to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive impactful results in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage end-to-end execution of banking transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and deposit migrations
  • Oversee core banking platform conversions and digital banking transitions, ensuring timely completion and stability
  • Coordinate cutover activities and command center operations to support go-live events
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans, governance structures, and executive-level reporting
  • Partner with stakeholders across business, technology, and lines of defense to ensure project alignment and success
  • Facilitate workshops and on-site sessions to address critical aspects of the transaction process
  • Provide strategic guidance and anticipate potential impacts of system and operational changes
  • Support post-conversion stabilization by monitoring performance and addressing challenges
  • Collaborate with data mapping and integration teams to ensure accurate and efficient migrations
  • Lead efforts to enhance existing playbooks and improve project execution frameworks

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in banking, financial services, or consulting roles
  • Proven track record of managing end-to-end banking transactions or conversions
  • Hands-on experience with deposit migrations and account portfolio transitions
  • Familiarity with core banking and digital banking platforms, including Digital One or similar systems
  • Expertise in coordinating cutover activities and ensuring post-conversion stability
  • Ability to develop governance structures, reporting tools, and integrated project plans
  • Experience working across multiple lines of defense and business units
  • Willingness to travel on-site for workshops and command center activities, as needed
