This role integrates project management and clinical research support within the Department of Pathology, providing coordination across clinical, operational, and research initiatives. The individual will lead and support projects from conception through implementation, including planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting, while ensuring alignment with departmental goals and institutional priorities. In parallel, the role supports clinical and translational research activities by assisting with case identification, data management, research workflows, and coordination of multidisciplinary collaborations. Responsibilities include developing tracking systems, facilitating communication among stakeholders, preparing materials for research and clinical initiatives, and ensuring timely execution of projects. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working across teams to drive both operational efficiency and research productivity in a dynamic academic medical environment.
Job Responsibility:
Works closely with senior management to ensure project charter or framework alignment with department’s goals, strategy and scope of work
Leads assigned projects, coordinating with department staff, key workgroups, steering committees, provider partners and leaders to effectively design project charters, pilots and programs
Leads and prioritizes multiple concurrent projects/programs, and manages changing priorities, escalating issues and re-setting priorities as needed to meet deadlines and goals
Works independently and closely with staff to develop business plans for organizational priority initiatives
Identifies and refines analysis for projects, developing analytic and quantitative frameworks/models to assess the feasibility of new opportunities
Effectively facilitates cross-functional meetings to successfully collaborate and build consensus
Monitors, evaluates and reports on the progress of projects, anticipating barriers and communicating major issues to senior leadership
Produces and executes presentations, supporting strategy and program design
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree is required
Master's Degree is preferred
4 years progressive experience in healthcare management, project management, consulting or a closely related field, Master's degree in lieu of two years of work experience is required
1 year experience managing multiple highly complex projects is preferred
