Job Description:

Barge Design Solutions is seeking a Project Manager with a passion for leading architecturally driven healthcare projects within our Private Center team. This role offers the opportunity to guide the delivery of innovative, high-performing healthcare environments from hospitals and medical office buildings to specialty and outpatient care facilities. The ideal candidate is an experienced project manager who thrives at the intersection of design excellence, technical delivery, and client partnership in the healthcare market.

Job Responsibility:

  • Partner with leadership to implement project management best practices tailored to healthcare architecture projects
  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to develop proposals, establish budgets, define project scopes, and determine resources and timelines for successful delivery
  • Lead development of Project Management Plans, ensuring alignment of design and construction administration activities
  • Manage day-to-day operations to achieve project goals on schedule and within budget, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance, and quality
  • Provide technical and design leadership on healthcare facility projects, coordinating disciplines such as architecture, mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP), structural, and civil as part of integrated design teams
  • Oversee design documentation, permitting processes, and quality assurance reviews to meet both regulatory and client standards
  • Prepare and administer contracts and subconsultant agreements consistent with Barge standards
  • Ensure adherence to the firm’s Quality Program, fostering excellence across all project phases
  • Conduct regular project reviews, reporting progress and key performance metrics to stakeholders
  • Participate in occasional site visits for construction observation and coordination with contractors
  • Support and guide project teams in managing construction administration tasks, including responses to RFIs, Submittals, Pricing Requests, and Change Directives
  • Mentor and develop team members, building technical and leadership capabilities across the healthcare group
  • Cultivate and sustain positive relationships with clients, partners, contractors, and regulatory authorities

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, or a related design discipline from an accredited program
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing healthcare facility projects including hospitals, medical office buildings, outpatient centers, or other healthcare environments
  • Proven design and technical leadership across multidisciplinary healthcare projects
  • Strong understanding of healthcare planning principles, building systems coordination, and regulatory design standards
