The Project Manager (Facilities) is a full-time, on-site exempt position based in Kinston, North Carolina. This individual assists the Senior Facilities Manager of Projects and Compliance in delivering high-quality facility services. The role contributes to business objectives by managing facility projects—including initial fit-outs and renovations—from the initiation stage through planning, design, and construction. The Project Manager ensures that all project goals and objectives are accomplished within specified timeframes and funding parameters while maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal laws across manufacturing, warehouse, and office spaces.
Job Responsibility:
Serving as a primary point of contact for project management
Assists the Senior Facilities Manager of Projects and Compliance in delivering high-quality facility services
Managing facility projects—including initial fit-outs and renovations—from the initiation stage through planning, design, and construction
Ensuring that all project goals and objectives are accomplished within specified timeframes and funding parameters
Maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal laws across manufacturing, warehouse, and office spaces
Coordinating with proponent groups and building committees to facilitate rational facility planning, budgeting, and scheduling
Preparing requests for proposals (RFPs) and conducting meetings to hire architectural and construction management services
Preparing and managing capitalized expenditure budgets, tracking variances, and ensuring a smooth recovery process
Partnering with Workplace project resources to ensure that renovations and expansions are organized to limit business disruption
Monitoring all phases of construction to ensure adherence to contract and procurement requirements
Preparing detailed project reports and controlling expenditures in accordance with budget allocations
Serving as a technical expert for the RFI/CFT process, creating specifications and scope of work statements
Providing essential counsel to workplace leadership and related functions such as finance, HR, security, and health and safety
Coordinating with facility occupants during move-ins
Ensuring timely communication with consultants and internal customers
Managing initiatives to improve service delivery through cost and quality improvements
Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in a related field such as Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management
Equivalent relevant experience for candidates with degrees in other fields
Two or more years of project management in corporate real estate or facilities, particularly within complex or production environments
Strong ability to manage budgets
Progressive leadership experience with the ability to motivate teams
Technical proficiency in OSHA, ISO, NFPA, ANSI, and ADA standards
Proficiency in Google G-Suite and CMMS applications like Corrigo
Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple work-streams in a multi-cultural environment
Ability to influence others in a matrix environment
Ability to act as a diplomatic and flexible representative of the firm
Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
