The Project Manager owns new projects from initial contract through completion. The main point of contact for projects for both internal and external customers. Accountable as the subject expert. Represents the company as an ambassador to project stakeholders, general contractors, and architects. Provides support for the door, frame, and hardware side of the business.
Job Responsibility:
Manage commercial and multi-family residential door, frame, and hardware projects
Manage budgets for projects to achieve profitability
Responsible for managing the project schedule
Managing performance review process and hiring and training of staff
Execute, monitor, and meet KPI’s
Managing monthly billing targets
Communicate project schedule and ongoing status with the executive leadership group, installation subcontractors, and the accounting department
Schedule and manage pre-construction meetings with the associated installation company
Maintain full grasp on product lead times
Strong understanding of door projects for both the manufacturing and construction industries
Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive communication and responsiveness
Ensure vendor satisfaction by communicating with vendors proactively, clearly, and often
The project manager clearly communicates expectations
Ensure products are furnished to the job site on time and complete
Communicate project changes, modified submittals, current set of drawings, and construction documents are furnished in a proactive and clear manner
Provides all information/documentation necessary for the Shipping team to make consolidated and non-rushed shipments to the job site
Provide accurate and timely information for the monthly billing and projection process
Provide cost-to-complete information associated with their projects for the accounting department monthly
Responsible for communicating clearly with the customer and the accounting department, regularly, detailing outstanding Request for Change orders (RFCO, and processed, unprocessed Change Orders
Completing full submittal packages, preliminary work, and submittals. RFI’s, ASI’s, pricing changes, options
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
2-3 years experience in the door, frame and/or hardware industry preferred
High School Diploma or GED, some college or BA/BS
Must be able to read construction plans and specifications
At least 2-5 years of industry experience or work-related experience in a similar role
Comfortable going out to job sites, unaccompanied
Reliable transportation
Ability to travel via automobile, train or airplane
Read tape measure, basic math, including fractions
Computer literacy- Excel (intermediate user experience), Word, email, and Internet required
Blue-Beam and Emullion or other door and frame industry-specific software
Build a full submittal package, creating cabinet, door frame, and hardware schedules
Knowledge of Project Management software and other Microsoft Office tools to track, monitor, and report job site progress, coordination, spend, job site activities, and other tasks as needed
Strong understanding of blueprints and architectural plans
Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment
Task and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities

Good written and professional verbal communication skills
