The Ruhlin Company is seeking to hire a Project Manager for its Building Division in Columbus, OH. Position Summary: Plan, organize and control all resources (employees, equipment, materials, subcontractors) for the successful execution of a project. Lead teams of employees in the construction of projects ensuring project quality, schedule, cost control, safety and customer satisfaction objectives are met.

  • Review project proposal or plans to determine time frame, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project
  • Develop baseline project schedule with assistance from Superintendent and/or Scheduler
  • Review proposal specifications, drawings and attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
  • Review design options and recommend best solution based upon cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials
  • Determine critical path schedule and sequence of work
  • Investigate value engineering options
  • Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work

  • Monitor and report project cost and schedule performance

  • Champion skill development of assigned resources through training and performance evaluations
  • Communicate and reinforce the Company vision, values and goals to employee

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Five years project management, estimating and supervisory experience in construction
  • Extensive knowledge of construction methods and materials, costing, scheduling and estimating
  • Experience with estimating software
  • Previous experience directing craft labor in capacity of foremen and/or superintendent
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
  • Ability to think ahead and plan over a one-to two-year time span
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with key owners, engineers and architects
