Randstad are proud to partner with the leading provider of construction and strategic building maintenance services for the Queensland Government. We have an immediate need for a Project Manager at an AO7 level. The primary purpose of the Project Manager is to provide a high level of skill, leadership and professional knowledge in the delivery of project management consulting services. It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives of ensuring service delivery exceeds expectations.

Job Responsibility

  • Coordinate all aspects of building project implementation including pre-design, design, documentation, contract administration, and post-construction activities
  • Act as the day-to-day point of contact for clients
  • Coordinate project staff, external consultants, building contractors, and local authorities
  • Manage project cash flows and budgets to meet profitability targets
  • Generate exception reports for variances and perform project performance audits
  • Provide high-level contract coordination across both traditional and non-traditional contract systems
  • Lead negotiations with consultants, contractors, and departmental stakeholders to ensure cost-effective solutions

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's Licence
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, Town Planning, or Quantity Surveying) is highly regarded but not essential
  • Previous experience working within a Queensland Government department or agency is highly desirable
  • Proven experience managing building and construction projects with strong contract administration skills
  • Exceptional negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage diverse stakeholder groups
