Our Melbourne Water team continues to grow, creating opportunities for experienced Project Managers with a passion for delivering water infrastructure solutions to join our high-performing group. As a result, we are hiring across multiple Project Manager roles and are seeking motivated professionals to be part of our diverse and collaborative Melbourne team. The Role In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to deliver a broad range of projects across Victoria while working closely with our national team. Our projects are varied and span the full project lifecycle - from master planning and strategic-level studies through to feasibility assessments, functional and detailed design, and construction supervision.

Job Responsibility

  • Work closely with our senior team of experienced engineers, design managers and other project managers to continue our excellent project delivery track record
  • Successfully deliver complex projects, working within high performing interdisciplinary teams and contributing to the financial success of the business
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and design managers to plan, coordinate, and execute key projects according to the Stantec Corporate Project Management Framework (PMF)
  • Develop detailed project plans, monitor timelines, budgets (tracking and forecast), and deliverables
  • Contribute to decision making and challenge how our projects are being delivered
  • Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals
  • Develop strong working relationships with clients by delivering valuable business solutions and understanding our client’s business
  • On each project, as Project Manager you will be paired with a Project Technical Lead. The PM is responsible for the financial and commercial success of the project, whilst the PTL is responsible for technical delivery

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, science, or related discipline
  • Technical appreciation of water infrastructure projects including some or all of the following: Water and sewerage networks
  • Water and wastewater treatment plants
  • Water resources projects
  • Dams and pumped hydro infrastructure
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills, with a high level of commercial competency
  • Sound business acumen and an understanding of how to control project financials
  • Strong ability to prioritise tasks and multi-task to ensure deadlines are achieved
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with clients to meet their objectives
  • Strong commitment to safety and understanding of OHS best practice and obligations
  • Ideally some experience in leading multidisciplinary teams in a consulting environment
