WELBRO Building Corporation has a career opportunity for a Project Manager to lead our evolving self-perform division in Central Florida. The ideal candidate will be 7 – 10 years out of college and qualified to take on the full range of project management duties with minimal oversight. The individual will have a great opportunity to progress as a leader of our self-perform structural division in the Greater Orlando area.
Job Responsibility:
Leadership: Initiates and maintains liaison with prime client and architect/engineer contacts to facilitate construction activities
Financial Control: Manages the financial aspects of contracts and protect the company’s best interests by monitoring labor and material costs and compiling financial status reports
Buyout: Leads the project team in managing the buy-out process
Preplanning: Leads team to establish project pre-plans including objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards
Risk Management: Thoroughly investigates potentially high-risk situations on the project and provides potential solutions
Oversight: Monitors and controls construction through the construction management system (BIM 360) and administrative direction of Site Manager
Change Order Management: Manages the change order process with the owner, subcontractors and vendors
Staffing: Plans, organizes, and helps interview for key positions on the project and Operations Department
Performance Management: Oversees and executes training and development initiatives for direct reports
Invoice & Pay App Approval: Reviews and approves material invoices and sub pay apps in paperless system
Scheduling: Works with Site Manager in updating project schedule in P6
Preconstruction & Project Start-up: Assists with the preconstruction process including job number requests
Requirements:
B.S. degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university
4+ years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager and/or Project Engineer with a commercial concrete subcontractor
8+ years of working in the commercial construction industry in a Project Manager career track
previous experience would include Office Engineer, Project Engineer and/or Assistant Project Manager in the commercial building construction industry
High proficiency in project management applications necessary
