Randstad Engineering is seeking a skilled Project Manager to join a world-class client in the Nuclear Engineering sector at their facility in Peterborough, Ontario. This client’s team is a recognized leader in the design, manufacture, and service of complex tooling for fuel handling, reactor maintenance, and nuclear medicine delivery systems used globally. This client is responsible for the automated systems that allow 24/7 on-power refueling of CANDU reactors, solving critical challenges within the Nuclear Industry. Their equipment is vital to Canadian nuclear power plants, contributing significantly to carbon-free energy production and the creation of life-saving medical isotopes. The Project Manager holds ultimate accountability for assigned projects, ensuring success in budget, schedule, and overall customer satisfaction. You will ensure the proper direction of company resources for satisfactory contract execution. This position involves leading internal teams, controlling project budgets and schedules, and managing non-technical communication. You will report directly to the Project Management Organization Manager.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead diverse teams toward the successful execution of assigned contracts

  • Be responsible for the ownership and maintenance of the project schedule and risk register, leveraging project team support
  • Ensure accurate and timely publication of all contract-defined project reports

  • Coordinate and support the execution of planned activities and continuously review the effectiveness of the plan with the organization’s team and the client
  • Understand, predict, adjust, and react to changes that may affect contract execution using formal change management procedures

  • Support planning efforts necessary for the submission of contract proposals and changes
  • Support sub-contracting efforts to ensure execution within client contract constraints

  • Ensure contract execution aligns with organizational governance and departmental procedures, seeking appropriate approvals for deviations

  • Support Accounts Receivable in the timely receipt of client payments

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree OR College Diploma in Business, Engineering, or a suitable related field from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 5 years of industry-related experience (e.g., in Engineering, Quality, Commercial, Finance, or Manufacturing)
  • Proficiency with complex scheduling practices
  • Demonstrable understanding of core project management fundamentals, including scheduling, Earned Value Management (EVM), budget controls, and change management
  • Demonstrable understanding of contract management
  • Demonstrable capabilities in organizing, analyzing, and presenting large and diverse data sets
  • Demonstrable understanding and experience regarding client management and commitment to client relationships and mutual success
  • Excellent communication skills
  • professional mastery of English, in both written and verbal forms
  • 5 years of related industry experience
  • 5 years of project management experience in a project-based organization
  • Experience in the nuclear energy production industry
  • High level of competency with Oracle Primavera P6
