Job Description:

Randstad is proud to be working with a leading Victorian council in Melbourne’s West to recruit an experienced Site based Project Manager to oversee the delivery of major community infrastructure projects. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the construction phase of high-profile community developments including a new aquatic centre and other library, pavilions and other Council related building projects.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and manage the construction phase of major capital works projects
  • Coordinate and liaise with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure project milestones and quality standards are achieved
  • Monitor project progress, complete regular site inspections, and address issues or risks to maintain timelines
  • Manage contracts, variations, and procurement activities in alignment with council policies and regulations
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, building codes, and environmental regulations
  • Prepare and deliver project reports and presentations for senior management and council committees
  • Facilitate strong communication and collaboration across project teams, community groups, and stakeholders
  • Implement effective risk management strategies and resolve project-related conflicts

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Building Construction, Architecture, Project Management, Engineering or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in project and/or construction management
  • Site based experience is required
  • Proven ability to deliver Capital Works Projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Strong stakeholder and contractor management capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Current driver’s licence
