The Project Manager – Infrastructure (Level 1) is responsible for the successful delivery of low to medium risk infrastructure and construction projects. This role leads cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams to ensure projects are completed safely, with quality, within budget, and on schedule. Projects are typically valued up to $20 million and may span planning, design, procurement, construction, and closeout phases. This role supports infrastructure initiatives within BC Hydro and requires strong coordination, stakeholder engagement, and reporting capabilities within a structured utility environment.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk management plans for low to medium complexity infrastructure projects
Lead project scoping, planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting activities across the full project lifecycle
Monitor project benefits, resources, risks, and status to ensure alignment with approved scope, timelines, and financial targets
Prepare and maintain project documentation including project charters, communication plans, action logs, status reports, and post-implementation reviews
Coordinate activities across engineering, quality assurance, construction management, procurement, planning & controls, safety, and stakeholder engagement teams
Support regulatory approvals and engagement with Indigenous communities and other stakeholders as required
Ensure effective communication and alignment between internal teams, contractors, and field crews
Maintain meaningful relationships with customers, engineers, contractors, field operations, and internal business units
Provide clear written, verbal, and presentation updates to stakeholders and leadership
Proactively resolve issues and escalate risks as appropriate
Utilize project management principles and tools to monitor performance against key milestones and financial controls
Support quality and safety compliance throughout project delivery
Use intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and other project management tools to track and report on performance
Requirements:
Minimum five (5) years of project management experience or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or related discipline
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
Strong written and verbal English communication skills suitable for a professional environment
Must be located in British Columbia
