Job Description

Software Resources has an immediate, contract job opportunity for a Project Manager – Compass with a major corporation in Glendale or Burbank, CA. 6+ month contract. Pay Rate: $70 – $76/hr DOE. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing enterprise-level projects and initiatives within the Enterprise Technology & Data portfolio. This individual will work closely with various project owners to define the project team and assign responsibilities. The Project Manager will also be responsible for developing a consolidated view of the project, and for project deliverables including calendars, cross-project dependencies, risk analysis, stakeholder coordination, and regular communication of status. Primary responsibilities include guiding process development at a project team level and managing high-risk, high-impact, strategic projects across a multi-disciplinary, multi-function group of technologists and business professionals. This requires experience communicating across audiences, effectively defining and utilizing escalation paths, and updating technology or business leaders. The Project Manager works in a dynamic, collaborative environment and reports to the Sr Manager, Product & Engineering and will support Projects for the Appian Platform, as well as other projects in the Enterprise Technology & Data portfolio.

Job Responsibility

  • Managing enterprise-level projects and initiatives within the Enterprise Technology & Data portfolio
  • Working closely with various project owners to define the project team and assign responsibilities
  • Developing a consolidated view of the project, and for project deliverables including calendars, cross-project dependencies, risk analysis, stakeholder coordination, and regular communication of status
  • Guiding process development at a project team level and managing high-risk, high-impact, strategic projects across a multi-disciplinary, multi-function group of technologists and business professionals
  • Managing projects, multiple projects, or a program with Engineering teams on development and implementation of products or solutions

Requirements

  • 7+ years of applicable project management experience in a technology environment, preferably for a large company
  • Proven experience with at least 5 years of experience in leading technology, multidisciplinary efforts across a large-scale matrix organization
  • Experience in leading technology projects or multi-threaded efforts
  • Able to lead project meetings and workshops driving commitments, accountability, and deliverables
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, and planning skills
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing software development project plans
  • Exposure to software development lifecycle methodologies (focused on Agile, Lean)
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills to achieve business results

  • Communicates a clear understanding of Agile ceremonies, e.g. product backlog refinement, preplanning, planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Exposure to a wide range of productivity tools, including collaboration software (e.g., MS Teams), and standard MS Office tools (e.g., Outlook Online, OneDrive)
  • BA/BS in business, computer science preferred or other technical field or appropriate work experience
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Financial acumen, including understanding CapEx vs. OpEx, budget tracking and variance analysis, ability to explain financial variances and recovery plans
  • Project management fundamentals (experience managing projects end-to-end)

  • Maintain a caseload of victims of alcohol and drugged driving who are in need of short-term crisis intervention, emotional support, grief support groups, and appropriate referral sources for continued long-term needs
  • Provide court accompaniment and guidance with legal, financial, and medical systems
  • Work in conjunction with other Victim Services employees to provide consultation and support to victims where needed
  • Utilizing independent judgment, conduct individual needs assessments on victims/survivors of alcohol and drugged driving crashes for emotional support, information, and referrals, implementing beneficial interventions based upon those assessments
  • Maintain current assessment of victim’s coping and need for further referrals
  • Based upon assessment, create and implement a tailored case management action plan for victims, which may include grief support assistance, crisis intervention, referrals for long-term counseling issues and other basic needs, as well as support group facilitation
  • May accompany victims/survivors to justice proceedings as appropriate
  • Provide advocacy by assisting in the protection and exertion of victims/survivor's rights and educating others about the criminal and civil justice systems
