Job Description

Airbus Upnext is launching a new cross divisional demonstrator that will deliver strategic outputs to all Airbus divisions. It will help reinforcing knowledge and capacity to propose disruptive and differentiating avionics architecture and advanced awareness sensors to enrich Airbus Helicopters future products. Following initial exploration, sense & avoidance technologies such as cameras and LiDARs as well as aircraft robust positioning even in case of GPS loss will be further developed up to high level of maturity for helicopter use. Those technologies will be used to increase the crew's awareness of the environment through a novel Human Machine Interface, better adapted to new on-board technologies. This job is based in Marignane, comes with a limited contract (CDI-C) linked to the deliverable of the demonstrator (end of June 2028). Starting date ASAP.

Job Responsibility

  • Define the appropriate project management approach (agile/waterfall/hybrid) depending on the project phase and set up and manage the necessary project management tools
  • Formalize, maintain, and oversee the execution of the master Project Management Plan (PMP)
  • Support the Head of Demonstrator in managing the project’s performance against the PMP and its Time, Cost and Quality (TCQ) objectives
  • Monitor the project’s financial performance
  • Track the master schedule against the ambitious timeline
  • Manage the tendering processes, contract negotiations and supply chain logistics
  • Oversee all contractual relationships with internal partners, external suppliers and research partners
  • Support and manage public funding activities
  • Manage the project’s Intellectual Property (IP)
  • Manage the projects’ export control aspects
  • Prepare and coordinate all materials for governance meetings
  • Actively manage the project’s risk and opportunity register
  • Support the management of key stakeholders
  • Set up and run the project's steering committee
  • Serve as a key interface within the multi-functional project team
  • Conduct regular team meetings, report progress to senior management, and ensure clear and consistent communication flows
  • Ensure project learnings, operational procedures and other relevant key deliverables are properly collected and documented

Requirements

  • Demonstrated seniority in project management, with strong command of monitoring and controlling project budget and schedule
  • Strong financial acumen with hands-on experience in contract management, tendering processes and supplier relations
  • Proven ability to manage project risks and opportunities, coupled with excellent stakeholder communication and reporting skills
  • Exposure to public funding application and management process, ideally in the Research & Technology (R&T) field
  • An agile and proactive mindset, with the autonomy to take initiative and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding, startup-like environment
  • Eagerness to take initiatives to propose simpler and efficient ways of working
  • Strong French & English communication skills
  • Values of transparency, humility & empathy
  • Autonomy, adaptability, availability & accountability
  • Readiness to step out of your comfort zone
  • Team player mindset and willingness to have fun
  • French is mandatory

Nice to have

  • Knowledge on Airbus PM tools & Project Management Certificate would be a plus
