Under the overall supervision and strategic guidance of the Legal and Program Director (Ukraine), the Project Lead will oversee and manage the implementation of the Truth Hounds project Restraining a Doubt Machine, under Phase II of the PEJ Ukraine Program. The Project Lead will be responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, and monitoring of the project. The role includes ensuring effective project delivery, managing timelines and deliverables, coordinating with partners and contractors, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Leading the planning, coordination, and implementation of project activities in line with project objectives, timelines, and budget
Overseeing the day-to-day management of the project and ensuring effective workflow among project team members
Serving as the primary focal point between PEJ and the Truth Hounds Project Manager and team
Coordinating with the broader PEJ Ukraine Program to ensure alignment with programmatic priorities
Coordinating and communicating with project implementers, contractors, and partner organizations
Building trust-based relationships with project implementers to ensure a collaborative approach, accelerate decision-making, and reduce project risk
Supporting collaboration with Truth Hounds and other partners involved in project activities
Identifying relevant sources, experts, and partners to support project implementation
Monitoring developments relevant to the project and advising on implementation strategies
Monitoring progress toward project indicators and deliverables
Preparing project reports and ensuring compliance with donor reporting requirements
Maintaining accurate documentation of project activities, outputs, and outcomes
Supporting project recordkeeping, including contracts and other administrative documents
Tracking project budget implementation, including invoices and expenses
Ensuring appropriate documentation and compliance with financial and administrative procedures
Coordinating with relevant PEJ staff on project-related operational matters
Participate in relevant team meetings and reporting coordination calls
Contribute to proposal development, concept notes, and fundraising materials as needed
Requirements:
Advanced degree in project management, international relations, public policy, law, or a related field (Master’s degree or equivalent preferred)
Demonstrated experience in project management, preferably within international NGOs, human rights organizations, or rule-of-law programs
Experience coordinating multi-partner projects and working with international and local stakeholders
Strong organizational, administrative, and financial coordination skills, including experience tracking budgets and project deliverables
Excellent writing and reporting skills, including preparation of project and donor reports
Strong communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
Familiarity with international criminal law, human rights documentation, investigations, or accountability processes is an asset
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote, and international team environment
Fluency in Ukrainian and English is required
Must be based in Ukraine (Kyiv strongly preferred)
