Job Description:

I’ve partnered with a leading, specialist piling and ground engineering Contractor looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to initially cover a large scheme in Chester, before moving onto regional projects. You will be a strong character, providing daily support and driving the safety agenda in conjunction with the in-house Safety team and liaising effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Reporting into the Regional Head of HSE, you will be:

Job Responsibility:

  • Working with Site and Project Management to ensure compliance and improve understanding
  • Coaching site staff and engaging Safety in
  • Helping to develop and manage site infrastructure including temporary works
  • Identifying areas for improvement whilst ensuring the smooth running of the site
  • Assisting with incident investigations where required
  • Working with the client to ensure high standards during project delivery

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH-qualified (ESSENTIAL)
  • A member of IOSH (ESSENTIAL)
  • Experienced in multi-faceted, large-scale construction sites (ESSENTIAL)

Nice to have:

Experienced in piling, ground engineering, civils or geotechnical (Preferable)

  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the Enterprise and MWHT Policies and Procedures and also any applicable Health and Safety Legislation
  • Advise and support Managers and Supervisors to discharge their responsibilities for the H&S of employees and others to whom they have a duty as defined by Legislation and Company Procedures
  • Ensure management controls are in place so that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and to provide advice as and when required
  • Carry out systematic audits and inspections of construction sites, mobile workplaces, offices and other workplaces to verify compliance with the legislative requirements and compliance with the requirements of the health and safety management systems
  • Develop and deliver audit regime in line with both project and business requirements
  • Report the findings of assessments to site management and jointly agree any actions required and timescales for completion
  • Monitor the satisfactory resolution of health and safety issues
