Job Responsibility

Evaluate and interpret subsurface field and sampling data including soil and groundwater
Generate subsurface maps and cross-sections
Collaborate with engineering and environmental scientist staff
Oversee field monitoring and testing of soils including boring investigations and soil type classification
Interpret soil, bedrock and groundwater elevation and quality data
Prepare written plans and reports related to site investigations, assessments and remediation activities
Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects
Participate in pre-task planning

Bachelor's Degree (in Geology/Geotechnical Engineering)
2-4 years of progressive work experience in Geology with acquired knowledge at the level of a Senior Project Geologist
Professional Geologist License (PG) or Professional Engineering License (PE) required at time of hire. (Wyoming PG or PE required within one year of hire date.)

Job Responsibility

Regulatory Compliance & Enforcement: Develop and implement compliance policies, procedures, and enforcement strategies.
Conduct audits, inspections, and assessments to determine compliance with state and federal regulations.
Investigate and resolve compliance violations and issues within delegated authority.
Draft, negotiate, and finalize enforcement documents.
Ensure compliance with agency rules, state statutes, and regulatory requirements.
Make compliance determinations through interpretation of regulations, technical reports, and inspection findings.
Technical & Environmental Review: Perform technical reviews of permits, proposals, plans, and applications to protect or restore groundwater quality.
Analyze complex environmental, geological, hydrogeological, chemical, and biological data and formulate conclusions.
Evaluate geologic hazards and provide technical recommendations.
Review and evaluate the work of consultants.
