Job Description:

Ninyo & Moore, a SOCOTEC Company, has an immediate opening for a licensed Project or Senior Project Environmental Engineer or Geologist to assist in the management and growth of our environmental practice in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in the management and growth of our environmental practice in the San Francisco Bay Area
  • Conduct and manage environmental investigations, soil and groundwater remediation, project scheduling, staff mentoring, budget control
  • Meet and interact with clients and regulatory agencies, including the US Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Toxic and Substances Control, the Regional Water Quality Control Board and all local Environmental Health agencies
  • Coordinate, participate in, and oversee staff field activities, including logging of borings, test pits, trenches and cores
  • Evaluating geologic and hydrogeological conditions
  • Sampling soil, soil gas, and groundwater
  • Prepare environmental proposals and reports
  • Provide technical support to staff-level engineers, geologists, and field technicians

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
  • California PE or PG licensure REQUIRED
  • Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER training required
  • 10+ years of experience performing most or all of the tasks listed (at least 5 years of project management experience)
  • Solid base writing skills
  • Effective inter-communication skills
  • Ability to work with and support teams as well as ability to work independently when required
  • Proficiency with Word and Excel
  • Experience in managing projects and budgets, manage clients and client relationships, oversee subcontractors and project staff, mentor junior staff, and preparation of technical proposals and report deliverables
  • Local experience and familiarity with the geologic and engineering practice and a strong knowledge of state and federal regulations
  • Team player, detail oriented, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice to have:

  • Stormwater QSD certification strongly preferred
  • Other certifications and registrations a plus
  • Experience with construction activities is also desired
