Ninyo & Moore, a SOCOTEC Company, has an immediate opening for a licensed Project or Senior Project Environmental Engineer or Geologist to assist in the management and growth of our environmental practice in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Job Responsibility:
Assist in the management and growth of our environmental practice in the San Francisco Bay Area
Conduct and manage environmental investigations
Manage soil and groundwater remediation
Manage project scheduling
Mentor staff
Control budget
Meet and interact with clients and regulatory agencies (US Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Toxic and Substances Control, Regional Water Quality Control Board, local Environmental Health agencies)
Coordinate, participate in, and oversee staff field activities (logging of borings, test pits, trenches and cores
evaluating geologic and hydrogeological conditions
sampling soil, soil gas, and groundwater)
Prepare environmental proposals and reports
Provide technical support to staff-level engineers, geologists, and field technicians
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
California PE or PG licensure REQUIRED
Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER training required
Stormwater QSD certification strongly preferred
10+ years of experience performing most or all of the tasks listed (at least 5 years of project management experience)
Solid base writing skills
Effective inter-communication skills
Ability to work with and support teams as well as ability to work independently when required
Proficiency with Word and Excel
Experience in managing projects and budgets
Experience managing clients and client relationships
Experience overseeing subcontractors and project staff
Experience mentoring junior staff
Experience in preparation of technical proposals and report deliverables
Local experience and familiarity with the geologic and engineering practice
Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations
Team player
Detail oriented
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with construction activities is also desired
