Job Description

Nationally recognized environmental remediation contractor looking for an entry level Project Engineer to support a large and complex environmental remediation project in northern New Jersey. This project will be a long-term project estimated at a duration of 3 – 5 years. The scope includes mobilization and set up of support infrastructure, installation of various structures, dredging and backfill, transportation and disposal, water treatment, and extensive marsh and waterway restoration.

Job Responsibility

  • Report daily construction activities
  • Development of daily excavation drawings via AutoCAD
  • Maintain daily material delivery tracking and various construction production logs
  • Preparation of written work plans
  • Quality control of ongoing construction work in accordance with the project construction drawings and specifications
  • Coordination of site deliveries with field personnel
  • As the individual progresses, responsibilities may also include procurement of materials, equipment rentals and professional services, project scheduling, and project accounting and cost tracking

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental Engineering, or applicable science degree from an accredited college/university
  • 0 to 5 years previous construction or engineering/consulting industry experience supporting construction
  • 2-3 years preferred
  • Intermediate to proficient knowledge of AutoCAD software
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
  • Well-organized individual with good communication skills
  • I.T. certification preferred
  • Prior experience in environmental dredging and GPS technology preferred
  • Generalized heavy civil/earthwork construction experience preferred

Nice to have

  • Knowledge or prior use of MS Project a plus
  • General knowledge of OSHA safety regulations a plus
  • I.T. certification preferred
