BDA are seeking a Project Engineering Specialist (Capability Enhancement Team Lead) who is ready to make an impact on a world‑class maritime surveillance and response platform. As a highly skilled Project Engineer you will apply your extensive engineering knowledge, project management skills and leadership ability to guide the multi-disciplined Capability Enhancement Team in the efficient and effective delivery of a portfolio of engineering changes. This role reports to the RAAF P-8 Engineering Services Manager and is also responsive to the Program Manager of the RAAF P-8 Contract for the delivery of engineering personnel, products and services required by RAAF P-8 program & associated organic growth opportunities.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead a team consisting of design engineering personnel to meet P-8A Enterprise objectives
  • Lead integration and collaboration of stakeholders, services and products from various Programs in BDA, ADF, US Navy, and The Boeing Company
  • Provide leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers
  • Project manage all changes within the scope of the Capability Enhancement Team
  • Act as the main customer interface to ensure that engineering and technical requirements are adequately understood and engineering status on project deliverables are communicated
  • Lead project execution to complete the work statement
  • Plan, identify and coordinate resources required over the life of the projects and assign responsibility for activities to team members whilst ensuring technical correctness and consistency of products and services
  • Leverage existing and create new networks to ensure knowledge and experience within The Boeing Company is utilised to expedite desired outcomes

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in complex technical development and integration projects
  • Strong understanding of Project Engineering principles and application of techniques
  • Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles and lifecycle management
  • Experience developing and executing against key Project Engineering and Systems Engineering artefacts including Systems Engineering Management Plan and Verification and Validation Plan
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements
